If I believed most people were informed or cared enough I wouldn't be as concerned with the phrase.

My logic is the same as when a lot of us thought talk of prison abolishing was a losing strategy.

I understand the problems with the spout that launched discussion about this phrase, but IMO there is nothing wrong with describing US elections as people choosing between the lesser of the two evils. Intelligent, informed people can see pros and cons to even preferred, clearly superior candidates.

I think the problem is when the choice is between true evil and good but not perfect the phrase doesn’t accurately portray what they were trying to convey. The lesser of 2 evils would be if we were stuck between Cheney & Trump.
