Dr Martin Luther King Jr was called “doctor” because of his PhD from Boston University. He was highly educated and knew what he was doing.
He was an ordained Baptist minister. Dr King was 29 at the time of the bus boycott in Montgomery Alabama. He was awarded a Nobel prize in 1964.

What’s called the I have a dream speech is long and detailed and deep. Not like the sound bytes we hear on TV each February. The 1963 March on Washington is where Dr King spoke of his dream for the United States. The march was organized as a protest against poverty.

They wanted a federal minimum wage of $2.65 an hour. Today similar buying power would require a minimum wage of $23.0. Our buying power remains too concentrated in the hands of the one percenters and the ultra rich. The imbalance is what keeps so many from feeling our great economy.

The US is booming right now. Bidenomics has been awesome ! Many don’t feel it for the same reasons that existed in past decades We still need what Dr King was seeking. We need higher wages. We need more people to have more buying power.

I am so glad that our unions have found new life. US unions are lately batting 1000 in getting good wages for our workers. We need more of this. The dream will be closer to reality when more workers are paid thriving living wages. Savings and investment are what creates wealth and changes lives.

First an adequate wage and income are required to have savings.
What is history remains today. The “great society” efforts of the 1960s need to continue with renewed vigor.
