Capitalism gaslit people into thinking median income is #middleclass so regardless of wages, there's always a "middle class." But it's not about income, it's about power to own home equity and raise your family with economic security. Many don't know they haven't been middle class for generations.

On the Pew Research Center site, it asks you for your state, metropolitan area, income, and number of people in your household in the 'Are you in the American middle class?' calculator.

What seems like a high income in one area might be barely making ends meet in another.

Oh yea. Many factors involved but it still comes down to purchase power, equity, and security. And what I take issue with is that these things are no longer realistically attainable for a family income under $100k, even though many people consider $30-$60 middle class, in spite of purchasing power.
