Fines for crimes is a rich man’s justice system. I want these people in jail and then we can talk about damages to be paid.

With a 1B settlement, how is Alex Jones still a thing? Seems to me like every penny he makes, should be going to Sandy Hook victims.

Are these people really paying these settlements?

There’s judgment in process with Jones, he keeps trying to cry bankruptcy, but he will have to start paying minimum payments soon once all the legal stuff plays out. Giuliani will likely have liens put on everything he owns, and Freeman and Moss are first in line for that, but again it’s a process.

I wish they could be locked away until they pay or sell all assets and direct most future income to those awarded the judgements.

Corruption or stupidity or both. Whatever it is it has a really high price.

None of those entities has disappeared. Not even Alex Jones, who I would presume is the most vulnerable of them. The real-world consequences seem similar to those for going bankrupt in a game of Monopoly.

Have any of them actually paid a cent? Verdicts are moot if they never get paid. I know for a fact that Jones has not paid a cent.

Based on my very limited knowledge of civil suits (I once lost in small claims court), I believe that payment is essentially considered good faith. If the liable party fails to pay, the plaintiff must take them back to court to be charged with contempt and ordered to have their income garnished.
