That Black women are the world's saviors. That we're strong and can handle any and everything. That our value lies solely in what we can do for others.

We're tired and often unprotected at large and within our own community. We aren't allowed to just be and rest in our full humanity.

What's one misconception about your community/demographic that you'd like to clear up?

What's one thing, above all else, you would like others to walk away knowing.

Please respond by quoting. The information is too important to hide in the comments. I and others will echo.

In response to Timara (she/her).
I once complained to someone that I never get any support and the response I got shocked me. They said that I always come off so strong that it never occurred to them to help.

I’ve always admired the strength of black women. Now I’m thinking I’ve made the same assumption as that person made about me.
