Stop it with the Medicare For All nonsense. We need UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. Medicare STILL requires supplement insurance. With Universal Healthcare, you never have to worry if you’re covered, or if you’ll go bankrupt if you get sick.

Medicaid is so much better. It's the best insurance I've ever had and has covered virtually everything for 13 medical-specialist filled years. An occasional $3 copay and my admittedly expensive root canals but that's it. And I've gotten a lot of care.

Medicare is popular in the US, but universal healthcare is not. It might have to be a stepping stone.

Smart choice. I wish we had universal healthcare in Canada, too. We also require supplemental insurance for dental, vision, prescriptions, mental health, etc. It's mostly attached to your full-time job, getting it on your own is expensive.

Many can't afford it.

I should say, it's still better than everything out of pocket, for sure. It's just that so many Canadians can't afford it and work jobs that don't offer that insurance.

I'm fine, but it's so sad to know that many can't afford it. Especially newcomers to thr country.
