Being #antiracist doesn’t mean the #racism baked into you is suddenly gone.

It just means you acknowledge its presence, and try every day to push back against the implicit bias and structures hurting #Black people to try and make society a more equitable place.

I loved the way you succinctly stated it. And why is it so hard for some many?😢

The old Scottish poet put it well:

Oh the gift that God would give us
To see ourselves as others see us

We fear beyond measure seeing ourselves as we really are.

The pain of seeing that is *nearly* unendurable.

But to grasp life and life it fully, *it must be done*.

It sure is. Speaking “nun”-galese—we are all created in the image and likeness of God who is love. That is all. Love one another. Thank you for your posts. They are great.

And that impediment impacts everyone, including ourselves! We must overcome our racism if we are to grow with the rest of society. I see people stuck in a hateful tribal cycle of dysfunction. It never brought home to me more how violent and hateful racism is until the Tuckems text msg leak.
