Listen I know there's some serious stuff going on in the world right now, but we still gotta have the silly...or we will become hyper obsessed and burnt out.

I am singing Christmas carols to my cat as I type. They give me the ability to be a silly girl. Years ago I had a beautiful tuxedo cat and I named him Silly Boy because he was just that.

Agreed! So far Spoutible is giving me a nice balance of silly and serious. Xitter is the "wrong side of the tracks." BlueSky is Very Serious Twitter and wall to wall politics. Threads is.. well, I don't know what Threads is other than not what I need.

So let's silly away.

Out of every platform you mentioned, Spoutible is the only one that feels *authentic*. People gathering to hang out, learn from each other, exchange ideas, laugh, and love. Nowhere else I've been feels like there are human beings on the other end of the messages the way Spoutible does.

I'm getting more serious about needing the silly. I'm drawn toward comedy on my TV, and away from realistic drama. I still enjoy science fiction. I'm sure it's a coping strategy because I feel worse about the world than I once did, before climate change and fascism were front of mind.

Yes! Being silly is one of the things I love best about improv. This week, in class, I got to play a Royal Guard at Westminister Abbey wearing Inappropriate leggings.

I agree! We went the 35th Anniversary of that timeless Christmas film, Die Hard and my husband is still laughing his ass off over some of the lines. And where are all the dad jokes?
