The first time my son had a black teacher it changed his life. His desire for learning changed, he WANTED to go to school and actually enjoyed it. We definitely need more teachers that understand our kids and aren't afraid of them. My son was 6ft tall in the 6th grade but his teacher was 6'5".

What...LOL...6ft in the 6th grade...Jesus what were you feeding him...LOL..but yes having a dedicated and caring teacher that a student can relate to can make a huge difference in that student academic development....
