My FIL is one of those "always right" people. This afternoon he said something completely wrong and without thinking, I explained why he was wrong.

He hasn't spoken for 3 hours, DEEP into an adult tantrum. We are about to leave. My wife asked her mom for updates after we leave, it's such a "thing"

I've spoken up when he has spewed his BS 3 times in 8 years, respecting my wife's wishes. The first two were too egregious to ignore. This one was just the timing. My wife and her sisters are prepping for the fallout. I came from a horribly abusive childhood. My FIL never physically

abused his wife or daughters, but the mental abuse triggers me big time. My wife understands and is supportive. Her response to me made me realize it's time for me to speak up more. He has this thing about me being ex-military that gives me some reverence in his eyes. I'm going to use that in 2024.
