Exactly. I decided in grad school 40 years ago that the Middle East was a dead end to avoid in my diplomatic career.

Since then, nothing has happened to change my view that the triangle from Egypt to Turkey to Iran exists to chew up human beings for no good purpose.

Pointless.

my view on the Israel-Palestine conflict is that it’s been going on for more than a century & there are shades of gray on both sides. It’s is not a simple story of good vs evil.
