Spent most of the weekend writing parts of what I hope will become a poetic memoir. It has been rough. I brought up memories of two truly awful experiences in order to accurately convey the emotions. Anyone have a good way to "rest" the brain after an experience like that?

Yes. Train your focus on the present moment.

The past does not exist anymore.
The future hasn't happened.
The only thing that is real is NOW...this very moment.
And in this moment...you are SAFE.
