We changed the name of the "Suggested" tab to "Curated" because there is confusion regarding the purpose of the tab. The new tab was designed to show you spouts based on your interests from people you do and don't follow. However, over time, you should see more content from people you don't follow.

We will soon release a second feature called interest-based connections aka "Recommended." Once a day, our system will recommend x number of users that you can choose to follow or not follow. You will be able to disable this feature in your settings menu if you don't like it.

Lastly, we are completely removing the old Suggested Follows page and Suggested Follows widget. Interest-based connections aka "Recommended" will replace it.

Don't get me wrong, I think this new "curated" and "recommended" features are a wonderful addition to Spoutible that will facilitate it's "social" aspect. However, isn't this the very concept of "algorithm" that Spoutible was trying to avoid using? I mean, a good algorithm is still an algorithm.

Umm, it seems that it's optional to use either — you never need to click those new buttons, right? — so if you don't like it, you still get the no-algo timeline

Options, who knew?
