Can I be sincere for a moment?

I know that doesn't track with my normal behavior. Today is an anomaly.

A couple days ago I spouted asking a question about a spout not getting engagement, and there were serious responses that I was looking forward to learning from.

Eventually a portion of the conversation got QSd and things went off the rails.
I started getting the standard engagement lectures, got called whiney, told that they wouldnt engage with engagement beggers... yadda yadda.

It became a whole thing. Some folk who knew/read the whole thing got upset and started correcting rhe misinformation. Here's the part that really got me. Folk apologized for jumping to conclusions or dogpiling without reading back to the original spout.

I can come off rude sometimes (a lot of times). I don't mean to, and I've tried to correct it for 47 years.
Just the other day, one of the kindest people here thought I might have made a rude comment, but this further is making my upcoming point.

This place is special. When I was misunderstood, I got direct apologies. That was so nice to see. When I came off rude, I was asked about my intent. That was nice. This place is nice. I don't feel anxious about chatting, commenting, or interacting in general. I love it.

Granted, I did get told to go have intercourse with myself (solid medical advice, but rude). I blocked that person. Since then? Civility. This place gives me peace and civility. Thank you bossman for making a safe space. @cbouzy

A very good thread that addresses how we roll here at Spoutible. I would guess that most, if not all, active users have apologized. A fella once told me that if you don’t make any mistakes, you aren’t trying. I resemble that remark.

I keep running into people who won't apologize for their ignorant misapprehensions and mob lunacy no matter what.

It's disheartening.

Such a nice feeling isn’t it? Not getting slammed like on the other place?

I’m fired up today. 1/6 three year did it for me. Republicons trying to change what happened, blaming everyone else for what TrDump and his administration did with the rioters. Members of Congress who were enablers to TrDump, lying their asses off.

I had a depression episode too. Why is he even still a thing? All the enablers in congress that are just puzzies bc they're afraid. Of. An. Entertainer. January 6th gutted me. He can go straight to hell.

I love this! Thank you for sharing. I may have been one of the ones piling on, if so I apologize. Sometimes I swoop into the middle of something without background and don’t follow up. Anyway, thank you! Great to be here in this space together. 💜
