I do like some shows like Queer Eye where the focus is more on the people than "the makeover", but anything that's focused on "changing" someone to be "better" regardless of their own tastes & preferences (or to meet some unattainable societal "norm") is a no from me 👎

One of my favorite memories of my dad when I was a teen was when my mom and I were watching some makeover show like Say Yes to the Dress. He walked in the room and said "I hate these shows - why can't we just let people be comfortable and happy as they are!" Haven't watched a makeover show since.

I have mixed feelings. A lot of those shows are exploitative - but the service could be useful.

As a neurospicy kid, I had no idea what to wear or how to dress. Non-uniform days at school were hell for me.

So giving people tools to understand how their clothing works with other people is valuable.

As I'm prone to saying: It's not the WHAT, it's the HOW 👍
