Please pay attention to GOP in Georgia: they just passed a bill in Senate to give GOP ability to remove any prosecutor. This is 100% so they can remove DA Fani Willis who is on verge of indicting Trump. GOP is willing to change law to protect Trump!

NO...

I'm sorry but Trump is the last thing on Kemp's mind. This is about him seizing personal power over Georgia the way DeSantis would want to. He OPPOSED Trump in 2020, which has not changed. In fact, if Kemp could speed up Trump's trial, he would.

I keep seeing this as related to Willis, but that's not the primary motive, though I'm sure some legislators would be fine with it. A friend in Athens, GA sent me this article. We should be careful not to make everything about TFG even though the national media likes to.

I can’t even say I’m surprised. Republicans are transparently underhanded in just about everything they do.

I wonder if The Justice Dept and the ACLU watch #Maddow . When will the powers that are to defend against authoritarian creep in our democracy? How long will they allow fascism to bleed into our governments?

Some of the legislators are subjects of the investigation, and the Lt. Governor, who'd appoint a member of the "oversight body", is a target

An article I read said that the law they wanted to pass was to lower the recall threshold from 30% to 2%, to recall a prosecutor. They had a legit sounding excuse, which of course no one believes. Article suggested recall in Fannie Willis's district would be difficult because it is a dem stronghold.

Damn shame cause that's exactly what the bill is meant to do. DeSatan already did it in Tampa, Florida...No bill required.

Where does this bill go now? What are the expectations this becomes law? Can this be appealed?
