So, gonna fill you in on what I've been up to: Full time RVer (#glamper) for the past 8 yrs in the #PNW . Yeah, we got some cold that stuck around, so we moved to our cottage in Point Roberts b/c we have 50amps there. Moved before the temp dip, but... (goto/2)

#Glamping pt2: but we couldn't get the big slide to come in, so couldn't go. Did a bunch of research & found a work around-- found a guy saying he used drill batteries. Gave us the solution: connected Slide motor to chasis battery. Must know what you're doing for this. (goto /3)

#Glamping pt3: We get on the road. Arrive at our destination. Used Generator to put out slides and hooked up 50amp power BUT the crossover switch pooched, so were left with only one half of our electrical panel being recognized by the EMS. Time to sleep (goto /4) #PNW

#Glamping pt#4: The temp went to -8 overnight. It was a sleepless struggle cause our Aqua-hot furnace has been acting up for a few weeks. Did a clean just before we left, but still not burning right. Had to restart furnace every 20 mins (goto /5) #PNW

#Glamping pt5: So, furnace not staying on and only have half our circuits b/c of the transfer switch issue, so half for electric for heaters are NOT working, including the water heater. Temp -8 C. Next morning no water running. Turns out the basement heater, which is DC, only blew cold. (goto /6)

#Glamping pt6: Basement heater-- it's original with our motorhome, & picked this time to fail. That was on night 1. Next morning, after much research about the transfer switch, we determined we could ByPass the EMS because we are on 50 amps. Moved 2 circuits to their dedicated breakers. (goto /7)

#Glamping pt 7: Very cold day. -11°C felt like -20°C. ByPass EMS & got the water heater and a 4th electric oil rad that could keep the coach at 16 °C/60°F. Next: got a new ceramic space heater and put it in the water bay to thaw water lines. (goto /8)

#Glamping pt8: Water lines thawing, luckily the freeze wasn't too deep. Also put heat tape on water pipes from holding tank & on fresh water tank. We planned to stay on our tanks for the first couple days, rather than hook up to and energize our above-ground lines. (goto /9) #PNW

#Glamping pt9: Now that water thaw is underway, turned attention to Aqua Hot Furnace. Cleaned the flame reflector and optical sensor; changed fuel nozzle. Furnace holding the burn for a much longer time. Maybe I will get sleep tonight instead of restarting it every 20 mins. (goto /10)

#Glamping pt11: Abt 5am Noticed the water pump wasn't working. Dressed up warm, went outside to check the water bin. I saw the heat tape was working fine, but the new space heater in the pump bin was cold. No sign of overheat (it was on low). Just stopped working. #PNW (goto /12)

#Glamping 12: Technically still Night 2. Water freezing. None of our other space heaters are small enough to fit in the pump bin. Hung an incandescent light bulb and plugged the DC heater that's not working properly, blowing cold. It won't heat enough to thaw, but will do something. -7C. (goto 13)

#Glamping 13: It's Day 3. First thing we do is return the ceramic heater that stopped working. Set it on low. 3 hours later water running fine. Also ordered a new crossover switch for the generator. Hubby figures he can fix the DC heater in water bin. Temp up to -4 °C. Things are looking good! /end
