Just sayin'.

It's not that hard to lift up instead of punch down.
It's not that hard to not step on the backs of others in order to boost yourself higher.
Listen.
Reflect.
Keep listening.

Just had to walk out of the room from watching a Dave Chappell special. This is the exact sentiment I was feeling…how funny are you really if the only laughs you can get are by putting others down?

If "wokeness" keeps you from being funny,

you're weren't funny, you were abusive.

TRUTH, Barbara 🖐🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I'm actively boycotting him and other "punch down" comics like him. Bet he wouldn't find it so funny if people made fun of his Asian wife.

Correct! He very noticeably avoids that particular punch-down, stereotyping routine. He should’ve stayed gone.

When you really pay attention to the comedy central show, he was very methodical about who he stereotyped and punched. Heavy disrespect for most Women/People of Color; except his wife is Asian and he steered clear. It was really modern minstrel.

I turned it off (the one where he insults trans ppl). It was not funny and so offensive I couldn’t take any more of it. Only time I have ever had to turn something off on the spot.

Trust me when I say, if I had control of the remote/tv, I’d have turned it off as well. Walking out was my best option, after saying my peace.
