I'm an atheist. I went to a Baptist church til I was 14. I went to Sunday school and sang in the primary and junior choirs. Played on the church basketball team. I was baptized at 13 years old. From early childhood, I believed that religion was a story. Merely fiction. The Ark was far-fetched to me.

Let's just stick with the lunch menu and stop all of this xenophobic Christian-right Bullsh@t. Afraid another religion is gonna kidnap the kiddies? Everyone is not Christian. If you want the Ten Commandments then expect the other religions to post their religious doctrines. Why are you special? Huh?

A BIG NO. It's an indisputably religious tenet, inappropriate to force on those who aren't followers of the same belief. Suggestion: post non-religious humanist guidance, i.e., the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Forms of this ethical principle are found worldwide.

But what ARE the 10 commandments? Should they even be called commandments? What does traditional Judaism say about them? I'm going to bet that these lawmakers don't know these kinds of details and also don't care since they would rather push dogma on the populous to rule them rather than represent.

I think it’s fine as long as every other religion (Hindu, Buddhism, Satanism, Santeria, Vodun, etc.) has the same exact opportunity if they so desire to place their tenants in schools also. If not then it’s a big no!

Only if they similarly and prominently post the tenets of other religions, side by side to the commandments. And even then, only with a valid disclaimer.

As long as they also post the eleven Satanic rules of earth too. We can't set one religion above another. Fair is fair.

Religion is like a cancer in American politics in Australia our constitution states “ The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance,”
