I can't be the only person who despises range hoods. What aesthetically pleasing kitchen exhaust alternatives are you using?

There are some designed to be built in to the bottom of a cabinet above the stove. They're almost invisible if the cabinet has a lower lip, but unless you're using a recirculating fan, which doesn't really clean your air, you still have to have space for duct work to the outdoors.

No upper cabinets in my kitchen. I removed them.

There are some downdraft ones, too, which are recessed into the countertop and pop up for use. They take up some space behind the stove and they're more expensive than comparable over-the-stove types.

There are also flush-mount ceiling versions, which are even more $$$
