🩶Hey #Spoutible ! Did you see what happened?
A 45-year-old man has been handed the death penalty for setting a Kyoto Animation studio on fire in 2019 and killing 36 people in one of Japan’s deadliest mass murders.

Do you think its fair?

I oppose the death penalty in all circumstances, on both moral and practical grounds.

Likewise. The US is split pretty much 50-50.

For me it mainly comes down to: Death is irreversible. There's a risk of executing an innocent person. The more steps taken to mitigate this (which will never be 100% sure), the greater the cost. Thus, the more moral it is, the less practical it is.

I understand,
i also strongly believe in educating the people in prison and not punish them. Give psychological help etc. But we know not all prison systems are the same.

Maybe, i say maybe, some big cases, should use the euthanasia box , we have seen in south Europe. i am truly troubled with it.
