And seriously, after Trevor Noah? We needed a fresh face, like Sarah Cooper not nome nostalgic reboot for #GenX . And I am GenX!

Guy did some good things in his time, no question. It's just he also became a less noxious version of Bill Maher along the way, a guy whose relevance peaked in the 2000s and now is a shadow of his former rep.

He is just there to go after tfg and GOP. That's it. Throw some punches, get lots of press. And then pass it off to the next one.
To counter the attention tfg gets automatically, need someone who can draw about the equal attention. He can throw weight around plenty.
Only job.

He was an ageist and a misogynistic ass to Clinton. I don't see him as a friend

Not going to argue that.
Two (ro three) things can be true at the same time.
And things can change.

I like that he pulls numbers, and has hardened against tfg.

He will draw a following and his research will cycle and find readers and followers. He will have Monday, other talents will weigh in on W and F.
I'll enjoy the counter weight to bs outta other sources.

Yeah, I guess I feel like John Oliver has that niche covered but whatever. He's just an entertainer

It will be interesting to see if the new late night scene can provide enough viewers for the show to continue. I will tune in. And, I always listen to John Oliver, will continue to do so.

I wonder who even watches it? It seems like a GenX and older thing?

That is about 135 million people, overall. BB and X hold a lot of wealth, too, 50% and 30%, respectively. That would interest executives making decisions. BB have the most discretionary income.
That is what is driving the decision.
