So me occasionally still sitting down and stumbling through some music has a benefit. Good thing it doesn't require you to be good at playing a musical instrument.

"Playing a musical instrument, particularly the piano, correlates with enhanced memory and better executive function, which involves complex task-solving abilities. The benefits are even more pronounced for those who continue their musical pursuits into later life."

You don't have to be good at things to enjoy them and find value in them.

Exactly. It also helps to live in a house where I'm not sharing walls so I don't bother the neighbors, though I still have my digital piano from my apartment life which allowed me to plug in headphones.

That's good. My pursuits are much quieter, but I feel are also valuable for keeping my mind active. I have no musical ability nor interest.
