Childcare advocates in Connecticut rallied yesterday, arguing increases to funding of childcare from the state are insufficient. Advocates explained that without more funding, high costs of childcare and low wages will continue, in an industry that employs many women of color, per CT Public.

The rallies were organized by the group Child Care for Connecticut’s Future in six cities and towns across the state. In Stamford, advocates, child care providers and parents rallied outside of a preschool, calling for better working conditions.
