IMHO: Quote spouting gives context to what you're saying and makes people more likely to join in - it seem less like a private conversation and more like a public post seeking comment. That's how it hits me anyway.

This is exactly as I've viewed it from Day 1. I had stopped quote spouting for a while because evidently some people took offense at the practice, but recently I've been quote spouting more often. 👉️

I've evolved on it over time. Had to drop my Twitter bias against the practice because there, it's most often used passive aggressively to ridicule someone. I hate that! However, when it's used to share a conversation, I'm all for it!
