A state, New Mexico, IIRC, has a law requiring cars to be sold using third party dealers. So Tesla set up a dealership on a reservation. The state couldn't touch it.

Correct. The Bureau of Indian Affairs probably had to approve that. I wonder how many more dealerships will join Tesla? I hope the Tribe is getting good money for this.

AFAIK, Only Tesla sells through company owned dealerships. Everyone else uses third party dealers, e.g. John Doe Chevrolet.
