Great points here! Also, if your smartphone has a “strong password creation” feature, use it. (That device can spit out a string of random letters, numbers and symbols in an instant.)

Make your passwords long, folks! Use a good password manager. Do some research and find the best one that integrates with your device.

Make your password have upper & lowercase letters, numbers, AND special characters. Make it at the very least 12 characters.

Spoutible allows 20. USE THEM ALL.

I really wish Apple’s password feature would randomize better! I generated a password just now, & got zeqra2-ryvxIr-zokjem. Looks good, but the pattern never changes. If a hacker knows I use Apple, they’d already know where/what special characters are used. The rest would be child’s play.

I usually drop a couple of special characters to any app-generated password anyway, just to add those extra gazillion years it would take someone to hack it.
