Why DOJ needs overwhelming 100% proof tfg committed treason to even attempt to charge him?
If he shot someone on 5th Ave, would they even arrest him if he was in the area, seen in the getaway car, threatened victim? Or only if they had video from multiple sources and he hadn't announced his run yet

I think there is worry about setting a precedent. Politicians don’t rise to the nat’l level by being squeaky-clean. A gentleman’s agreement was in effect. But the GOP backed tfg and now the DOJ has to define how much corruption and illegality is too much. Not easy in a polarized political climate.

Once the indictment is issued, the DOJ must turn over everything they have to the defense. The defense will try to discredit as much as they can. If *anything* is questionable, that could cast doubt on all of the other evidence, no matter how good it might be. It must be ironclad before indictment.
