After a winter #surge with 2 million infections a day, on Feb 7 the U.S. is likely peaking on the secondary transmission hill.

Nearly unfathomable, transmission is likely 68% higher today than at this point coming down from the original (BA.1) omicron surge in 2022.

From what I've seen in the wilds of PNW suburbia, we're not even close to 8%, probably closer to 0.8%.

When we run errands, my partner and I might encounter 2 or 3 other mask wearers, but too often are the ONLY people we see wearing masks.

80% seems unattainable.
Infuriating and depressing.

We have learned that people won’t wear masks, even when mandated. Same goes for vaccines. Covid exposed our lack of compassion for others.
