"Teachers can only deduct $250 in school supplies on their taxes, but:
•Bezos can write off his super yacht
•Musk can write off his jet
•Waltons can write off their mansions
Why? B/c millionaires write tax law for billionaires.
We need a Congress for working people—not the 1%"

Teachers, nurses, paramedics are all professions that deserve much better pay than they actually receive, I know many teachers and nurses and quite a few paramedics, and I am absolutely sure they are underpaid after hearing what they do at work.

Yes. And teaching is the only one of these professions in which the professionals have to buy many of the tools of their trade to subsidize the institutions where they work. All the more reason why they/we should be paid more.

I have several school teacher relatives. One, my niece, had 3 summer jobs at one point to cover her student loans and to just be able to live. My own daughter worked at the preschool–kindergarten level and spent a lot more than $250/year of her own money in her classrooms.
Tax the super wealthy.

💯 And also, fund the teachers and schools sufficiently for what they do. Each teacher should be able to order $1000 of stuff per school year for his/her/their classroom.

Yes!

And while we're at it, teachers shouldn't have to spend a dime of their own money buying school supplies. It's crazy how that's been normalized!
