It's a remnant of my Survival Mode period, when whatever you were doing had to be completed as expeditiously as possible so that you could move on to the thing you should be doing but are not currently doing because of the other thing you're doing now

I scan and bag my groceries at the self checkout like my car's on fire in the parking lot and the one-armed man is in line behind me waiting to finish me off, it gives me Feelings to stand there watching someone drift lazily through the beepening like we all just have all day to stand around.
