Medical Advice needed: My doctor started me on low dose statins last week. My leg muscles are now hurting. An older neighbor suggested CoQ10. My question, does it help and what have any of you taken to counter the statin side effects?
Thanks.

I'm on a pretty average dose of statins (atorvastatin) and take CoQ10, and it has helped me considerably. Did they check your D as well? That can also cause nasty calf cramps if your vitamin D is low.

I have been on 4000mg of D a day for a couple years now. So good there. I think I will try the CoQ10. It is not that expensive and it cannot hurt at this point. Thanks.
