#SBBC #FireNextTime Those broader principles have never been applied universally by Xtians. Those were only for the “in” group, which did not include women or “savages.”

I found these statements to be fascinating. I have long wondered why the church is so important to Black people. I understand the need for faith & community, I have never heard aspects of exclusivity called out in such an elegant way.

So true. Millions have died because of men using Christianity as a tool for power. Exactly the opposite of Christ's teachings.

Yes, unfortunately the Christian faith has pretty deep roots in oppression. The Bible was weaponized to justify African chattel slavery and colonization of countless cultures of color. It's still used as a weapon today. Too many Christians follow white nationalists instead of the Jewish Jesus.
