This was a good point that the history of humankind has for so long been seen as winners and creating heroes out of that violence
Bill Barr just remined us of that that it's the winners who write the history.
I think Baldwin struggled with this idea of change needs violence to succeed.

Absolutely. War and “warriors” are glorified. Assumption is the warriors are white, whether military or JQ Public. African-Am. who use violence heroically are usually arrested, not hailed as heroes.
