I am old enough to have vinyl albums of Sting. Masterpieces which have withstood the test of time. My last music system died 3+ yrs ago. I need to replace it with a temporary compact system for now. That track “when we dance” holds memories.

I kept most of my vinyls. The ones I treasure. I have moved home so many times in the last 45 yrs and my collection has moved with me. Those were the days where the covers were works of art. Some of the covers are fragile but I love them. My siblings and I have a few 78s that belonged to our parents.

I decided after 3+ years without a music system. I would treat myself to a fairly basic system to get me through my remaining years. I chose something that looks ancient like me. It was delivered today. Can be operated remotely and it has Bluetooth. CDs & Cassette facility too.

It accommodates 78s as well as LPs and singles. I have very few singles and even in my younger years, vinyls albums were ‘my thing’. I treasure my albums of black artists - especially knowing how hard it was for them to be recognised. One of the off the wall LPs wasTapestry by Carole King. 1971.
