This is a very serious problem, worse in some ways than Fox News. People who are already conservative make a conscious choice to watch Fox; this is just the local news presenting a warped version of reality in order to increase fear, promote bigotry, & boost the GOP. Gifted.

More evidence that profit-driven news is naturally incentivized to tilt conservative.

Angry people consume more news, so it’s in the news’s interest to promote stories that make consumers angry.

Conservatives like to “conserve” so anything featuring changes makes them scared and angry.

Two of my local stations are Sinclair (NBC, CBS).
That was a big deciding factor in cutting the cable cord for me. I hate Sinclair. And I'm 20% Scottish.

I warned folx years ago about these CONS when they first started buying up local stations country-wide. They're bold about it; you can look up which station in your area they own. The B-more paper purchase is another notch on their belt...
