I don't make as much working from home as a consultant as I did going to work every day, but these are all things that make it worthwhile:
*no commute--I can go from bed to office in 10 seconds
*no work clothes--leggings and sweatshirts are fine
*no chatter of other employees--concentration is easy

The employee chatter & people passing through were such a problem for me. I'm highly sensitive to sensory stimulation and, while I could work, it was so much slower as my brain had to navigate the sensory traffic. Going from an office to cubicles/open work space was terrible for me.

Same here. We had 16 people crammed into one classroom-sized room. I could hear/smell people eating, listen in on phone calls and everyday conversations--I'd wear headphones with white noise--the worst environment for working ever.
However, I did meet some friends I'm still in contact with today.
