Shades of the judge who gave little penalty to the "poor young man" at Stanford who raped an unconscious woman but ...sniff...lost his scholarship! He was punished enough. And, also, barely left unsaid - these young women ASKED for it- by virtue of being present. Poor rapists, so sad.

Their refusal to recognize the egregious crime that rape is speaks to a sordid past by these judges themselves. I’m sure if you looked far enough, you’d find people in their past who were abused by these judges and they are doing nothing more than excusing and exonerating their own evil.
