Thx, in a browser tab now so I can listen! :-) Amateur to Pro, I have a question. Real strings when you record them have a "transparency" that VI's don't. I also heard Cherry Audio a/b one of their synths with the real one and I heard the transparent sound of the real one. What makes "transparency"?

limitations of VIs are that they don't have as much detail or nuance as real players can do, simply because the sampling process is to record a set of techniques, articulations, etc. and it's just not possible to have enough hard drive space to record every possible thing a musician can do!

For me this term applies to a clarity in a mix, where you hear all the detail without any cloudiness across all frequencies.
What I hear as a difference between real and virtual instruments is the idiosyncratic human-ness versus the limitations of V
