Good thread. There’s a pretty clear distinction between “Machine Learning” (which we have) and “Artificial Intelligence” (which has yet to materialize). Publicity and marketing unfortunately (and irresponsibly IMO) use these terms interchangeably which blurs the definitions.

A series of computer programs, written by human beings, with narrow focus and even narrower backgrounds, cannot be said to be "intelligent." For intelligence, you need "thought," and for thought, you need the capacity to rewrite and reanalyze the data you are exposed to. AI does NONE OF THAT.
