If the Supreme Court says only Congress can disqualify someone from federal office...

What happens when Democrats win the House and take the majority on January 3, 2025?

Their first act should be the immediate disqualification of Donald Trump and ALL of his J6 co-conspirators.

It would then be up to that same SCOTUS to decide if whatever law they pass is constitutional or not.

Being 35 yo, or native born are clear cut 14th amendment restrictions, the “insurrection” piece isn’t. The crux of the issue is not if its a valid restriction, but rather how do “we” (nationally) make the finding that it applies to any individual. Thats what SCOTUS punted to congress to define.

Yep. Second should be appoint 4 SCOTUS justices to match the number of circuit courts.
Third, codify Roe nationwide.
Fourth offer statehood to 🇵🇷 and start it w DC.
Hit the ground running.

I'd like to add that should Congress take on this issue, my proposal for legislation would be: "A14S3 applies to all officers of all levels of government, whether elected or appointed, and should be construed and interpreted, by any court at any level, to be automatic and self-executing."

In spite of the fact that SCOTUS said that's what it will take, I wonder if that would run afoul of the Constitutional prohibition on bills of attainder with respect to the congressional co-conspirators, since they haven't actually been investigated, indicted or tried?
