I'm still mad that I wasn't allowed to be a patrol leader, to help kids walk home safely from grammar school. They got an orange belt/sash and badge.
Also not allowed to play Little League.

Ladies! Did you know that in 1973 you wouldn't have been able to get a credit card or bank account without your husband's signature? And it would be years after the Equal Credit Opportunity Act passed in 1974 before many banks would abide by the new law.

Oh I feel your pain. Our safety patrol had white sashes and a lots of privileges (in my pre-teen mind). I was so let down that it wasn't available for us girls. I would have rocked that job!
