Depends on type of work.
Best advice is that it's a work journal not a diary... keep it factual & unemotional as possible... and simply.
Date... time... xxxx told me I should smile more
Date.. time .. left work early for dentist appt. notified xxxx
Date... time .. finished project per xxxx request

And things that happen..
date.. time.. Pat yelled at Max for ? and called them a #! Max left work in tears.
Fill in information when you can, sometimes I would before leaving for the day.. or after I got home.
Morale is ... HR looks out for the company .. work 'friends' look out for their job.
