Thoughts on the Elvis movie: I was neutral about this one, but sat down to watch it this week. I turned it off three minutes in because I had an extreme aversion to every choice the filmmakers and the actors were making. I'm sure Austin Butler probably did a fine job. #oscars2023 #moviereview

Director Baz Luhrmann is a strong spice and he sometimes does amazing work, but I find his stuff hit and miss.

Yeah, I actually enjoy his other work for what it is. It was a mistake to focus the story on Tom Hanks and then let him do a patently absurd impersonation of the manager. You would think that the Elvis impersonation would be the minefield in this story, but no!

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who felt like that!

That chaotic collage of Vegas in the beginning going right into some old dude with an absurd accent whining just sent me over the edge. 🫠
