Me, to my colleagues, for the past several years: “I think ELA should collaborate with math, science, and social studies!”
Male colleague to us: “Mandatory staff meeting to discuss my brilliant idea of ELA collaborating with science, social studies, and math!”
Wokeity Woke Woke @Bethbo_beth
In meetings the last week. Again and again, women explain something and the men in meeting basically ignore them, restate and suddenly it’s a new idea.

How are men really not aware of this? That is what I don’t get.

I’m trying to not let it get under my skin.

We can’t let it get to us. The saving grace is I KNOW the other women in the meeting all see it.

I think this was particularly irksome because the colleague is still a baby teacher. Alas!
Tomorrow is a new day. I shall be, as Emerson says, unencumbered by my old nonsense.

Thank you Kay. I think I’ll be using, “Alas!”, and, “unencumbered by my old nonsense,” for many weeks to come.
