I've never read any and only saw the first movie, and not by choice. Did I recognize Rowling was a hate-filled human during the Harry Potter craze? No. But I do see that clearly now. And everyone else should too. Should we trash the Harry Potter legacy? That's debatable, as well it should be.

I'm perfectly accepting of the dichotomy between the person and their art. Each new revelation makes it more painful, though.

I read all the Harry Potter books and enjoyed them immensely. But I do think it's possible to appreciate the works of authors, musicians, architects, actors, and artists without admiring them as people. Wish they didn't use their fame to broadcast their bigotry, though.

The Harry Potter books are well-written and thoughtful and seem to promote tolerance and diversity.

Shocking when you consider what a thoughtless, intolerant ass we now know Rowling to be.

I've often wondered if she became that way after she made a billion dollars. 😒
