What the hell? Trump just directly threatened violence if he doesn't win the election. Literally, "A bloodbath." And that's not the top headline?

What's wrong with us? Trump's PROMISING an insurrection. Why isn't that a screaming headline in every damn paper?

Like every corporation, the media owners want power, wealth, and immunity. Trump is just a means to that end.

The root cause is unlimited corporate power. We've gotta end Citizens United as soon as we can.

Agree completely. Corporations are generally evil, but that’s to be expected given their incentive to drive profits at all costs. The problem is when they have more power than the people do in the way government is run. While the GOP is now just a political cult, Dems share plenty of blame here.

I'll object to 'evil.' Corporations aren't evil; they're *amoral*. They're legal fictions designed to insulate individual investors from open-ended liability, and we need that part.

But they're not people. The only corporate 'morality' is their fiduciary responsibility to maximize profits.

this wouldn´t apply over here: our constitutional law states in GG Art 14 Eigentum verpflichtet, i.e. property obliges and its use should also serve the public good.

They don’t actually have a fiduciary duty to maximize profits. Good article on this and the booked referenced in here is also interesting.
