On 3/21-8am the #CumberlandCounty #BoardofElections will recount the Commissioners Race/D2 primary) as requested bye the 4th place #candidate . Both the 3rd and 4th place candidates (Ms. Icaza and Mr. Pitman) have publicly said that they do not expect the results to change as the 38 vote difference

and in 2019 a recount confirmed #Alderwoman Cooper's win by 1 vote. Recounts also require equipment, staff time, & resources (💰). In this recount ballots from 52 #precincts ,8 #EarlyVoting Sites,all #Provisional and all #AbsenteeBallots will have to be recounted. 20 extra staff (#pollworkers) have

to be engaged for the day, a minimum of 4 staff have to pause their daily duties, 8 tabulators have to be set up, initialized and tested, as well as a high speed tabulator. The cost? My estimate (unscientific at this point) approx. $20,000. #primaryelection #elections #vote #everyvotecounts
