I had a RICO case with 15 defendants that took six years from indictment to get to trial. Millions of documents, COVID and without every Order being appealed to the Supreme Court. Representing a defendant I could not imagine it being rushed to trial sooner without severe due process implications.

People complain about how long it's taking to hold FP45 to account, but this is our system, for better or worse. And when you have the resources, you can drag the process out. But now we're seeing that even a "billionaire" can be brought down if you keep up the pressure.

The prosecution gets one chance in almost all cases (unless the case is dismissed), so every duck has to be in a row. The more complex the case, and the higher the profile of the defendant, the more time that has to go in. I wish more people understood what you're saying here.
