I know that sounds far too lenient for a lot of people, but wishing them ill, imagining unspeakable violence coming to them means I am turning myself into them and that I will not do.

This story is heartbreaking, because it casts such a terrible light on the state of Mississippi.

I have no answer for this but prayer for everyone involved, including the men who twisted themselves into this. May they use what is left of their lives to do good, in the communities where they will now be housed. May they know safety, so that their conscience is their consequence.

in any case bound for a high or a max security facility for that length of a sentence alone.

I think that going to general pop would prevent a lot of these cops from committing crimes. They don't deserve any more protection than any other prisoner.
